About

Where does the ocean end is a thematic exhibition curated by Tami Han. This exhibition delves into the depths of the unconscious mind, exploring the mysterious realm where the unknown resides, beyond the limits of perception. Audiences are invited to experience the awe of the sublime and the grandeur of beauty that emerges when one dares to plunge into the unconscious.
With an assemblage of paintings and illustration works, artists employ various methods to venture into the unconscious, such as revisiting one’s memories and unraveling one’s emotions or abstracted with saturated hues, or delineated with simplified structures to evoke a sense of memories. Furthermore, the works of these artists deploy intriguing connections to Surrealist photography as well as Jungian psychoanalytic concepts, such as the archetype and collective unconscious and Freud’s theory of displacement.
Thank you Emily Carr library for providing me a space in the 1st floor zone to exhibit my show.
Special thanks to Michael Pollard for support
